Aaliyah is a 2nd year (BA) English Literature and Creative Writing student based in the West Midlands. With almost 25 years of judging people – mostly herself – under her belt, criticising others comes naturally to her. As a critic, Aaliyah explores the literary status of mothers through intersectional feminist, Marxist, postcolonial and ecocritical lenses. Creatively, she adopts anthropomorphic approaches to her work, dealing with themes relating to the Eremozoic and Anthropocene Era. Her greatest achievement to date is the ‘Personal Excellency’ award she won in year 10. Says a lot, really.
